BRANCHEZ-VOUS! acquires the video sharing site TonClip.com
Montréal, June 4, 2007 -- BRANCHEZ-VOUS! (TSX Venture : BZV) has acquired 51% of TonClip.com (www.tonclip.com), one of the first Quebec-based video sharing sites, launched last December. TonClip.com is now part of the Video section of BRANCHEZ-VOUS.com, the leading independent portal in Quebec.TonClip.com allows users to freely post and broadcast their own video clips on the Web. Mostly geared toward French-speaking Quebecers, it gives Internet users a platform to share amateur videos. "We are glad to enrich our portal with user-generated video content", says Patrick Pierra, CEO of BRANCHEZ-VOUS.
Within the BRANCHEZ-VOUS.com portal, TonClip.com complements professional video offerings from the BRANCHEZ-VOUS.tv (www.branchez-vous.tv; information, with an emphasis on technology) and BV2.tv (www.bv2.tv; entertainment) video sites. TonClip.com also perfectly complements the MonBlogue.com (www.monblogue.com) service, which already offers a free text and photo-based blog creation platform to nearly 30,000 bloggers.
The founder of TonClip.com, Gino Côté, remains as shareholder of the site and will continue to lead its development with the technical, marketing and commercial support from BRANCHEZ-VOUS!. "This agreement allows TonClip.com to reinforce its positioning, enlarge its users base and accelerate its growth", says Gino Côté. This transaction will have no significant impact on the balance sheet of BRANCHEZ-VOUS!, which has no debt and has approximately $ 1 million in cash and financial placements available for investments and acquisitions.
