In 2006, BRANCHEZ-VOUS! increased its sales by 31 % and produced net earnings of nearly $ 275 000
Montréal, April 17, 2007 -- BRANCHEZ-VOUS! inc. (TSX Venture Exchange : BZV) disclosed its financial statements for the fiscal year 2006, ended December 31, 2006. The year 2006 showed satisfying results, mostly due to a general increase in the advertising market.The corporation's revenues were above $ 3.4 million in 2006, compared to slightly more than $ 2.6 millions in 2005, or an increase of 31 %. "Our growth is in synch with the growth of the Internet advertising market, says Patrick Pierra, CEO of BRANCHEZ-VOUS!. Our sales increased both on sites we represent and on our own sites. Growth should continue at a sustained pace in 2007."
Gross profit increased by 16 %, from almost $ 1.8 million in 2005 to above $ 2 million in 2006.
Net earnings were $ 274,000 in 2006 - or an 8% net margin. These earnings compare to $ 553,000 in 2005 - or a decrease of 50%. Basic and diluted earnings per share were at almost 1 cent in 2006, compared to almost 2 cents in 2005. "The major part of this decrease is related to a non recurring event, the fact that we made our vice-president, sales, a significant shareholder so as to align his interests with those of the shareholders, says Patrick Pierra. In 2007, we are confident to increase our earnings."
These results contributed to increasing BRANCHEZ-VOUS! shareholders' equity, from $ 1,140,000 as at December 31, 2005 to $ 1,462,000 as at December 31, 2006, or almost 5 cents per share. From this amount, a little more than $ 1 million was in cash, cash equivalents, short-term and long-term investments.
"We remain open to acquisition or investment opportunities in companies or new projects in our sector", says André Bisson, Chairman of the Board of directors of BRANCHEZ-VOUS!
In the fourth quarter of 2006, ended on December 31, 2006:
- the Corporation's revenues increased by 21 % compared to revenues of the fourth quarter of 2005, due to an increase in advertising sales;
- Gross profit increased by 9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2005; and
- Net earnings increased by 22% compared to the fourth quarter of 2005.
